The short answer
AWeber has sent email for small businesses since 1998, and it still suits someone who wants a weekly newsletter, a welcome sequence and a sales page without hiring help. The free plan holds 500 subscribers and 3,000 emails a month, twice MailerLite's free subscriber limit, and live chat and email support run around the clock. Paid plans cost more than MailerLite's at every list size from 500 to 25,000 subscribers, Lite is tight at one list and three automations, and your plan moves up a tier on its own when you use up your sends but only moves down if you ask support.
Choose it if
- You have fewer than 500 subscribers and want a free plan with no time limit that includes a landing page and a welcome automation
- You want to reach a person at any hour by live chat or email, or by phone on weekdays from 8am to 8pm Eastern
- You publish a blog, podcast or YouTube channel and want each new post sent to your list automatically from its RSS feed
- You sell an ebook, course or coaching package and want checkout on your landing page through Stripe or PayPal instead of a separate store
- You are moving from another email tool and want AWeber's team to move your subscribers, forms, automations and landing pages for you at no charge

- You want the lowest monthly bill at 1,000 subscribers: AWeber Lite is $25 and Plus $45, while MailerLite's plans cost $19 and $39 at that size

Newsletter Assistant
AWeber learns your writing style and drafts a newsletter for you each week, then emails you when the draft is ready. You edit as much as you like, then schedule or send it.
Email editor and templates
A drag-and-drop editor with more than 500 email templates, a stock photo gallery, AMP emails and an AI writer that drafts paragraphs, changes tone and suggests subject lines. You can also code your own HTML emails.
Workflow automations
Build welcome series, lead magnet deliveries, abandoned cart reminders and resends to people who didn't open. Workflows can split subscribers by tag, link click or open, and you set a time zone for each one.
RSS to email
Each time you publish a blog post, podcast episode or YouTube video, AWeber sends it to your list as a formatted email. This is useful if your newsletter is mostly a digest of what you publish.
AI landing page and sign-up form builders
Describe the page you want and the builder makes it, then you change it by asking in a chat window, for example to add a countdown timer, a pop-up or a Facebook Pixel. The free plan includes one landing page, Lite three and Plus unlimited.
Sales pages and checkout
Add a checkout block to a landing page and sell ebooks, courses, coaching or paid newsletters as one-time payments, subscriptions or payment plans through Stripe or PayPal in more than 100 currencies. AWeber takes 1.0% of each sale on Lite and 0.6% on Plus, on top of the payment processor's fee.
Web push notifications
Visitors who opt in get short browser alerts from you, which suits flash sales and new posts. Push is included on every paid plan; Lite caps you at 50,000 push subscribers.
Tags, segments and personalized content
Tag subscribers by what they click or buy, send to segments and show different blocks of an email to different interests. Saving custom segments needs a paid plan, and Lite allows one.
MCP server for AI assistants
Connect AWeber to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or other AI tools and ask them to find subscribers, draft broadcasts or report open and click rates. AWeber says it is available to all users.
Free migration service
AWeber's team moves your lists, tags, subscribers, up to three email templates, sign-up forms, automations and landing pages from your old provider, and aims to finish within five business days.
Pricing
Prices checked November 4, 2026, in US dollars, billed monthly unless marked yearly. Paid plans rise with your subscriber count: Lite is $25 a month at 1,000 subscribers, $35 at 2,500, $60 at 5,000, $100 at 10,000 and $210 at 25,000; Plus is $45, $55, $90, $135 and $250 at the same sizes. AWeber lists tiers up to 150,000 subscribers (Lite $920, Plus $1,050) and asks larger senders to call. If you use up your monthly sends or pass your subscriber tier, AWeber moves you to the next tier automatically; to move back down you have to contact support. Nonprofits get 3 months free and then 25% off, students with a .edu or .ac address get 20% off, and a Hold Package keeps your account paused for $4.99 a month. There are no long-term contracts.

Is AWeber free?
Yes. AWeber Free covers up to 500 subscribers and 3,000 emails a month, with one list, one landing page, one automation and one user, and it has no time limit or credit card requirement. Emails carry AWeber branding, and you can't save custom segments or run split tests. Once you pass 500 subscribers, you need a paid plan.
What is the difference between AWeber's free plan and the free trial?
The free plan is permanent and capped at 500 subscribers. The 14-day trial gives you Lite or Plus with every feature of that plan, but it needs a credit card, and the paid plan starts automatically when the 14 days end. The trial also ends early if you go over your plan's send or subscriber limit.
How much does AWeber cost?
As of November 4, 2026, Lite starts at $15 a month and Plus at $30 a month for 500 subscribers, billed monthly. At 1,000 subscribers they cost $25 and $45, and at 10,000 subscribers $100 and $135. Paying yearly brings the 500-subscriber prices down to $150 and $240 a year.
What is the difference between AWeber Lite and Plus?
Lite limits you to 1 list, 3 landing pages, 3 automations, 3 users and 1 saved segment, and lets you send 10 times your subscriber tier each month. Plus removes those limits, raises sends to 12 times your tier, adds sales tracking and advanced reporting, removes AWeber branding and lowers the sales fee from 1.0% to 0.6%.
What happens if I go over my AWeber sending limit?
On Lite and Plus, AWeber moves your account to the next subscriber tier and keeps sending, and it tells you about the price change. On the free plan, you have to upgrade to keep sending once the month's 3,000 emails are used. Deleting subscribers doesn't lower your bill by itself; you have to ask support to move you down a tier.
Does AWeber have a mobile app?
No. AWeber retired its mobile apps on May 1, 2023. You use the full AWeber website in your phone's browser instead, and you can add a shortcut to your home screen.
Does AWeber offer a nonprofit or student discount?
Yes. Nonprofits get 3 months free on a new account and then 25% off, once they send 501(c)(3) paperwork or a similar government document to AWeber. Students with a .edu or .ac email address get 20% off new accounts.
Can I add more targeted pop-ups to AWeber?
AWeber's AI landing page builder can add a timed or exit-intent pop-up to its own pages. For pop-ups and on-site forms across your whole website, Convertful lists AWeber among its integrations and sends new leads straight to your AWeber list.
