The short answer
Pick Pipedrive if your team sells through clear stages and you want a pipeline reps will keep up to date with little setup; its Nova AI assistant comes with every plan. Pick Zoho CRM if price and depth matter more: it's free for up to 3 users, its Standard edition costs $14 a user a month billed yearly with email integration and workflows included, and quotes, inventory and step-by-step sales processes arrive on Professional at $23. Pipedrive's email sync and automations start on Growth at $39 a seat a month billed yearly, so the same team pays more for it. Zoho asks for more setup time in return (prices checked November 4, 2026).

Pricing compared
Both companies charge per user each month and give a discount for paying a year up front. Here are the yearly-billed prices for one user, checked November 4, 2026:
| Pipedrive | Price a seat a month | Zoho CRM | Price a user a month |
|---|---|---|---|
| None | Free (up to 3 users) | $0 | |
| Lite | $14 | Standard | $14 ($20 monthly) |
| Growth | $39 | Professional | $23 ($35 monthly) |
| Premium | $59 | Enterprise | $40 ($50 monthly) |
| Ultimate | $79 | Ultimate | $52 ($65 monthly) |
The entry prices match at $14, but the plans don't. Pipedrive Lite gives you pipelines, activities, reports and Nova, and leaves out email sync, email templates, automations and sequences. Zoho CRM Standard already includes Gmail and Outlook integration, workflows, cadences, forecasting, web forms and built-in telephony. The fair comparison for a team that emails from its CRM is Pipedrive's Growth plan at $39 against Zoho Standard at $14.
For five users billed yearly, that works out to $2,340 a year on Pipedrive's Growth plan and $840 on Zoho Standard. Step up to Zoho Professional for quotes and inventory and the bill is $1,380, still well under Pipedrive's Growth plan.
Pipedrive's real cost can also climb with add-ons. Campaigns (email marketing) and Web Visitors cost extra on every plan, and LeadBooster, Smart Docs and Projects cost extra on Lite and Growth; Premium and Ultimate include those three. Zoho sells extra support as a percentage of your subscription: 20% for 24-hour weekday cover and 25% of the yearly fee for round-the-clock cover, which needs at least 50 licenses. Local taxes are added to both.
A note on the Pipedrive figures: its US pricing page refused our connection on November 4, 2026. The dollar prices above come from Pipedrive's own blog, which lists them as yearly-billed prices correct as of July 2026, and they match the €14, €39, €59 and €79 on Pipedrive's European pricing page that day. Pipedrive says yearly billing saves up to 42%, but we couldn't confirm its monthly-billed prices, so check before you buy.
Pipelines and deal management
Pipedrive's whole screen is the pipeline. Deals sit in a column for each stage and reps drag them forward. Every deal is meant to carry a next activity, such as a call or a meeting, and Pipedrive marks deals that have gone too long without one. On the iOS and Android apps a Focus view lists the day's tasks, and calls made from the phone are logged against the deal. If your managers mostly want to know which deals are stuck and who is following up, Pipedrive shows that with little configuration.
Zoho CRM has pipelines too, with multiple pipelines from Standard, but they are one module among leads, contacts, accounts, deals, quotes, products and custom modules. Its strength is control. On Professional, Blueprint lets you draw your sales process and require reps to complete each stage's actions before a deal moves on, and Enterprise adds territory and multi-team management so each manager sees only their own region or product line.
Pipedrive caps leads and deals per seat (2,500 on Lite, 5,000 on Growth, 15,000 on Premium and 20,000 on Ultimate, up to 300,000 in total), with no limit on contacts. Small teams with large lead lists should check that cap before choosing Lite.
Automation, email and AI
On Pipedrive, automation starts on Growth: 50 automations with if/else steps, 5 sequences of follow-up emails and one synced mailbox per user. Premium raises that to 150 automations, 25 sequences and 3 mailboxes per user, and adds AI email writing and summaries plus a team inbox. Nova, the AI assistant, is on every plan at no extra cost. Before a call it prepares a brief from the deal's history, then it transcribes the call and drafts the CRM updates for you to review. AI report creation, which builds a report from a typed request, is also included.
Zoho CRM gives you workflow automation even on the free edition, so a 3-person team can route leads and send follow-up emails without paying. Standard adds cadences for multichannel follow-up and mass email. Zoho's AI is spread across editions: Professional predicts how likely a lead is to convert or a deal to close, and Enterprise adds Zia as an assistant that offers insights, forecasts and suggestions. Zoho's pricing page also lists AI agents, though it places them on Standard in one table and Professional in another.
For email marketing, neither CRM covers it on the base plan. Pipedrive sells Campaigns as an add-on, and Zoho sells Zoho Campaigns as a separate app, though Zoho CRM Standard can send mass email to records in the CRM. If newsletters and automated email matter as much as the pipeline, Platformly keeps deals, stages and activities on the same contact records as its broadcasts and automation flows, and shows which email or link led to each sale. Its pipelines are lighter than either CRM here, so it suits teams that sell through email more than through reps (see Platformly's site for current plans).
Quotes, documents and the extras
Zoho CRM pulls ahead here for teams that sell products. Professional, at $23 a user a month billed yearly, adds CPQ with pricing rules for quotes, inventory, sales orders, invoices, purchase orders and vendors, so a rep can quote and bill from the same record. It also adds customer portals and a Google Ads integration. Enterprise adds approval processes, custom functions, a developer sandbox, field-level encryption and QuickBooks sync.
Pipedrive handles documents through Smart Docs, which creates shareable documents and shows you when a buyer opens them, with contracts and e-signatures on Premium. Pipedrive's Growth plan adds recurring products, but none of its plans list inventory or purchase orders. LeadBooster, Pipedrive's set of four lead generation tools, and Projects, for organizing tasks after a sale, come included from Premium.
Zoho's other advantage is the wider Zoho suite. If you already run Zoho Desk, Zoho Campaigns or Zoho Forms, the CRM shares the same customer record, and Zoho lists more than 1,100 integrations in total. Pipedrive's Marketplace has more than 500 apps, including Zapier, Xero and Zoom, plus an open API and webhooks.
Ease of use and setup
Pipedrive has four plans, one main screen and a 14-day trial that doesn't need a credit card, so a sales manager can set up stages, import deals and have reps working the same week. Its limit is depth: once you need enforced processes, territories or custom modules, you'll find less to configure.
Zoho CRM has five editions, a long list of modules and settings for nearly everything, including Canvas, a drag-and-drop editor for record page layouts, and custom functions written in Deluge, Java, Node.js or Python. That flexibility is the reason to buy it, and it also means someone on your team will spend real time setting it up and keeping it tidy. If you're a small team that wants Zoho's prices without the setup, Zoho's simpler pipeline CRM, Bigin, is worth a look. Zoho CRM is available in 28 languages, which helps teams working outside English.
Support
Pipedrive ties support to your plan. Lite gets a chatbot and video tutorials, Growth adds live chat and phone support starts on Premium. Ultimate adds extended phone support.
Zoho includes Classic support with every paid edition: email, phone, chat or a remote session, 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, with a first reply within 8 hours. Premium support runs 24 hours a day on weekdays with a 3-hour first response for 20% of your subscription, and Enterprise support runs 24/7 with a 1-hour first response for 25% of your yearly fee and a minimum of 50 licenses. Zoho doesn't state what support the free edition gets.
For a small team on a mid-priced plan, Zoho gives you a person on the phone for less money. Pipedrive's chatbot and tutorials cover the basics, but you'll need Premium before you can call someone.
