Tally
Free planForm builder you type like a document, with logic, Stripe payments and Notion, Airtable and Sheets links.
Best for founders, creators and small teams who want unlimited forms and responses without paying
Facts checked November 4, 2026
The short answer
Tally suits anyone who needs a clean form today and doesn't want to pay per response. The free plan has no cap on forms or submissions and still includes conditional logic, calculations, signatures, file uploads, Stripe payments and the Google Sheets, Notion and Airtable integrations. Pro at $29 a month adds branding removal, custom domains, team members and partial submissions. It falls short on recurring billing, which Tally doesn't support, and on regulated data, since its pages cover GDPR and EU hosting but say nothing about HIPAA.
Choose it if
- You want unlimited forms and responses on a free plan and can live with a small Tally badge on each form
- You sell workshop seats, deposits or one-off products through Stripe and don't want the form builder adding its own fee
- Your answers need to land in Notion, Airtable, Google Sheets or Slack, and you'd rather not pay for that connection
- Your customers ask where their data lives, and an EU-hosted tool with a DPA built into its terms answers the question
- You'd rather type a form the way you write a document than drag fields around a canvas
Skip it if
- You bill memberships, retainers or subscriptions, because Tally's payment block takes one-time Stripe payments only
- You take payments through PayPal or Square; Stripe is the only processor Tally connects to
- You handle patient data and need a signed BAA; Tally's pages don't mention HIPAA, while Jotform offers HIPAA features on its Gold plan
- You want to test a paid plan with the option of getting your money back, since Tally has a no-refund policy
Main features
Document-style editor
You type questions onto a blank page and insert blocks for contact details, ratings, dates, payments or uploads, much as you would write a page in Notion. You can start building before you sign up.
Conditional logic
Show or hide blocks, jump to another page, require a field or redirect people based on their answers. Tally includes logic on the free plan with no limit on the number of conditions.
Calculated fields
Add up quiz scores, lead scores or an order total from the answers given, show the result on the thank-you page, or pass a calculated price to the payment block.
Stripe payments
Add a payment block, connect a free Stripe account and choose the currency. Tally adds no fee on top of Stripe's, and payments work on the free plan, but recurring payments aren't supported.
Signatures and file uploads
Respondents can sign or attach files on any plan. The free plan accepts files up to 10 MB each with no cap on how many, and Pro removes the size limit.
Integrations
Send each submission straight to Google Sheets, Notion, Airtable, Coda, Slack, Discord, Linear or Attio, or through Zapier, Make, n8n and webhooks to other apps.
Partial submissions
On Pro, Tally saves the answers of people who start a form and leave before pressing submit, so you can follow up or find where they quit. Partial answers don't sync to integrations or trigger email notifications.
AI assistant connection
Tally's MCP server lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other assistants create forms from a description, edit them and read submissions for summaries or charts. It's free on every plan, and the assistant can't delete forms or submissions.
EU hosting and GDPR
Form data sits on Google Cloud in Belgium, encrypted in transit and at rest. A data processing agreement comes with the terms you accept at signup, so there's nothing extra to sign.
Data retention controls
On Business, you set how long each form keeps submissions, from minutes up to years, and Tally moves older ones to the trash automatically. Trashed submissions are removed for good after 90 days.
Pricing
US dollar prices from Tally's help center on November 4, 2026; its pricing page showed euros to our connection. Tally has a no-refund policy and considers refunds only after a long outage on its side. It runs education and nonprofit programs, but says it doesn't offer traditional discounts.

Questions people ask
Is Tally free?
Yes. The free plan allows unlimited forms and submissions under Tally's fair use policy and includes logic, payments, signatures and the main integrations. Free forms carry Tally branding, and uploaded files are limited to 10 MB each.
How much does Tally Pro cost?
Pro is $29 a month or $290 a year, and Business is $89 a month or $890 a year. Tally's help center listed these US dollar prices on November 4, 2026. Yearly billing works out to two months free.
What counts as fair use on the free plan?
Tally sets no hard caps. Its fair use page gives examples of extensive use: about 50,000 submissions a month, 50,000 email notifications a month, or 100 GB of uploads a month or 500 GB stored, kept up over time. Short spikes are fine, and Tally offers a custom plan to accounts that stay above those levels for several months.
Can Tally take payments?
Yes, through Stripe on both the free and Pro plans, with no Tally fee on top of Stripe's standard rates. You choose the currency for each payment block. Tally doesn't support recurring payments, so subscriptions need another tool.
Where does Tally store form data?
Tally is a Belgian company, and its GDPR page says form data is stored in Europe, on Google Cloud in Belgium, with Cloudflare in the EU for file uploads. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and a data processing agreement is part of the terms.
Does Tally give refunds?
Generally, no. Tally's refund policy rules out refunds for late cancellation, unused time or testing paid features, and considers them only after a long outage on its side. You can cancel anytime and keep Pro or Business features until the end of the billing cycle.
Can I build Tally forms with ChatGPT or Claude?
Yes. Tally runs an MCP server and offers a Claude connector and a ChatGPT integration, so an assistant can create and edit forms and read your submissions. The connection is free on every plan, and the assistant can't delete forms or responses.
