The short answer
Connecteam puts the time clock, the schedule, job checklists, team chat and HR tools in one phone app, which suits cleaning crews, home care staff, installers and other people who rarely sit at a computer. You pay a flat monthly price per hub for the first 30 users, so a team of 30 pays the same as a team of 12, and businesses with up to 10 users get every hub free. Costs climb when you need more than one hub, because each is priced on its own, and once you pass 10 users geofenced job sites start on the $49 Operations Advanced plan.

- You have 10 or fewer staff and want a free time clock, schedule, chat and time off tracking in one app
- Your team has between 11 and 30 people, where a flat price per hub costs less than paying per user
- Your crews clock in at customer addresses and you want a GPS stamp on every punch

Main features
GPS time clock
Staff clock in and out from their phones, and each punch carries a GPS stamp you can see on a map. Hours flow into timesheets with overtime rules applied, ready to export as PDF or Excel or send to payroll.
Geofences and automatic clock-out
On paid plans, Operations Advanced lets you draw a fence around up to 10 job sites (unlimited on Expert) so people can only clock in once they arrive; the free Small Business plan includes unlimited sites. Advanced also clocks people out automatically when they hit a daily limit, which stops forgotten punches from inflating a timesheet.
Kiosk and NFC clock-ins
A shared tablet at the site works as a time clock, with a PIN code or selfie check to stop one employee clocking in for another. Staff can also tap their phone on an NFC tag at the door to punch in.
Live location breadcrumbs
For mobile crews, the app can record a GPS trail during the shift. Connecteam says it records location only while someone is on the clock, although the phone asks for location access set to Always.
Shift scheduling
Build shifts by job, site or client, post open shifts for staff to claim, and attach tasks or files to a shift. Advanced adds repeating shifts and weekly templates, and Expert can assign shifts automatically.
Forms and checklists
Every plan includes unlimited digital forms and checklists with photos and signatures, for jobs like site inspections, incident reports and cleaning rounds. Connecteam's AI can turn a photo of a paper form into a fillable one, and staff can fill fields by speaking.
Team chat and company feed
One-to-one and group chats, plus a feed for announcements with likes, comments and polls. Expert adds pop-up updates that staff must confirm they have read, and posts can be translated into each employee's language.
Training and courses
The HR & Skills hub lets you build courses from text, PDFs and YouTube videos, add quizzes with a pass mark, and track who has finished. An AI course creator drafts a course from a short description of the topic.
Time off
Staff request leave in the app and managers approve it, with approved absences showing on the timesheet. Basic tracks balances for up to 6 policies, Advanced up to 9 and Expert as many as you need.
Payroll and POS integrations
The integrations page names about 15 connections, including Gusto, QuickBooks, Xero, Paychex Flex and PrismHR for payroll, Square, Clover, Shopify POS and Lightspeed for sales data, BambooHR, Wix Bookings and Zapier.
Pricing
Prices checked November 4, 2026 on Connecteam's pricing page, in US dollars. Each hub is bought separately, and buying one hub gives you the Limited plan on the other two. The flat price covers the first 30 users; from the 31st user you pay the per-user fee shown for that plan. Monthly plans can be canceled at any time without a refund of prepaid amounts, and yearly plans get a prorated refund if canceled in the first 30 days. A HIPAA-registered account costs extra; the pricing page does not give the fee.

Is Connecteam free?
Yes, in two ways. The Small Business plan is free for teams of up to 10 users and includes every hub. Teams of up to 30 users can stay on the free Limited plan after the trial, but it keeps only the basic features of each hub.
How much does Connecteam cost?
Each hub costs $29, $49 or $99 a month billed yearly for its Basic, Advanced and Expert plans, or $35, $59 and $119 billed monthly, checked November 4, 2026. That price covers the first 30 users. Enterprise plans are priced by quote.
How does Connecteam pricing work for more than 30 users?
You pay the flat hub price plus a monthly fee for each user from the 31st. On the Operations hub, that fee runs from $0.80 a user on Basic billed yearly to $5 on Expert billed monthly; the Communications and HR & Skills hubs charge $0.50 to $3.60. A 40-person team on Operations Advanced billed yearly would pay $49 plus 10 times $2.50, or $74 a month.
What happens when the Connecteam free trial ends?
Every account starts with a 14-day trial of the Expert plan, with no credit card. When it ends, you subscribe to a paid plan or move to a free one: Small Business for up to 10 users, or Limited for up to 30. If you do neither, Connecteam keeps your data until you subscribe or ask for the account to be deleted.
Does Connecteam track employees' location all the time?
Connecteam says its breadcrumb tracking records location only while an employee is clocked in. Staff do need to set the app's location access to Always on their phone, so the phone may show it as always tracking even though Connecteam does not record off-the-clock locations.
Can I get a refund from Connecteam?
Monthly plans can be canceled at any time, but Connecteam does not refund amounts you have already paid. Yearly plans get a prorated refund if you cancel within the first 30 days.
Does Connecteam do payroll?
Connecteam does not run payroll itself. It turns clocked hours into timesheets and sends them to payroll providers such as Gusto, QuickBooks, Xero, Paychex Flex and PrismHR, or exports them as PDF or Excel files.
Is Connecteam HIPAA compliant?
Connecteam offers a HIPAA-registered account for healthcare teams, sold for an extra fee on top of the plan. The pricing page does not list the fee, so you need to ask sales for a quote.
