Surfshark Antivirus is a sensible add-on for VPN buyers, and Surfshark sells it only inside its Surfshark One bundle. It covers up to five Windows, Mac and Android devices with real-time scanning, scheduled scans and webcam protection, and Surfshark says AV-TEST certified it in 2025. It does not run on iPhones, iPads or Windows on ARM, and the bundle has no password manager or cloud backup, both of which Norton 360 Deluxe includes. At the Black Friday prices we checked on November 4, 2026, One costs the same as the VPN-only plan for its first 27 months, so the antivirus costs nothing extra until you renew.

- You want a VPN anyway and would rather manage malware protection from the same Surfshark app

Real-time protection
Checks apps and files while you download, install and open them, and quarantines anything it flags. On Android you can turn this on or off from the Antivirus dashboard.
Scheduled and manual scans
Run a full scan, a quick scan or, on a Mac, a custom scan of chosen files and folders. You can schedule scans to the minute and exclude files or folders you trust.
Cloud Protect and frequent updates
Surfshark updates its threat database every 3 hours and checks files against its cloud service to catch new malware. On Windows you can set how often the database updates.
Webcam protection
On Windows and macOS, it blocks apps and websites from using your camera without permission and alerts you when one tries.
Web Protection on Windows
Checks the addresses your browser and other programs visit and blocks known malware and phishing sites before anything downloads. It installs a root certificate to do this, and you can exclude sites.
Ransomware shield on Mac
Guards folders you choose, such as Documents and Pictures, by stopping unknown apps from changing the files inside. You can add apps you trust to an allowed list.
External storage scans
Offers to scan a USB stick or external drive as soon as you plug it into a Windows PC or Mac, and quarantines any threats it finds.
Quarantine and history
Holds flagged files and can delete them automatically after 60 days. The Mac app keeps six months of protection history, including scan results.
Email scam checker
Checks messages in your Gmail inbox for phishing signs. Surfshark offers it from the Antivirus app's extra tools on Windows and macOS.

Can I buy Surfshark Antivirus on its own?
No. Surfshark sells its antivirus only in the Surfshark One and One+ bundles, which also include its VPN, Alert and Alternative ID. The VPN-only Starter plan does not include it.
Does Surfshark Antivirus work on iPhone?
No. It runs on Windows 10 and later, macOS Big Sur 11 and later, and 64-bit Android phones. You can still use Surfshark's VPN and Alert on an iPhone or iPad, and Norton 360 Deluxe, Bitdefender Total Security and Malwarebytes all list iOS protection.
Is Surfshark Antivirus any good?
It covers the basics well, with real-time scanning, scheduled scans and frequent database updates. Surfshark lists an AV-TEST certification for 2025 and shows scores of 6 out of 6 for protection, 4.5 for performance and 6 for usability. It has fewer extras than Norton 360 or Bitdefender, so it suits people who mainly want Surfshark's VPN.
How many devices does Surfshark Antivirus cover?
Up to five. Surfshark One's VPN covers unlimited devices, but the antivirus stops at five, so a large household may need a second product for the remaining computers and phones.
Does Surfshark have a free trial or a free plan?
There is no free plan. Surfshark offers a 7-day free trial on 12- and 24-month plans bought on its website, and you need to enter card, PayPal or Apple Pay details. Surfshark calls it a VPN trial and limits it to 3 devices. A 30-day money-back guarantee then covers your first purchase.
Why can't I see the antivirus in Surfshark's Mac app?
The antivirus appears only in the version of the app downloaded from Surfshark's website. If you installed Surfshark from the Mac App Store, reinstall it from the website, sign in with your One or One+ account and the Antivirus tab will appear.
Can I run Surfshark Antivirus next to another antivirus?
Surfshark's help center says installation may fail if the app detects another antivirus, even one you uninstalled a while ago. Remove the old product first; Surfshark's help center gives a PowerShell command for clearing leftover entries on Windows.
Does a VPN stop viruses?
No. A VPN encrypts your connection and hides your IP address, and Surfshark's CleanWeb blocks some ads and malicious sites. Once a harmful file reaches your device, you need an antivirus to find and remove it.
