Frase

Free trial

SEO content platform that audits your site, drafts articles in your voice and tracks citations in AI answers.

Best for in-house content teams and small agencies that want SEO research, drafting, publishing and AI answer tracking in one subscription

Facts checked November 4, 2026

The short answer

Frase audits your site, finds topics worth writing or refreshing, drafts articles in your brand voice and publishes them to WordPress, Webflow, Sanity, Wix or its own hosted blog. It also tracks whether ChatGPT, Google AI and, on higher plans, Perplexity, Claude and Gemini name your site, and it drafts a fix when a page starts losing Google traffic. Nothing goes live until you approve it unless you switch that on. The trade-offs are small monthly allowances (Starter covers 10 articles for $49 a month), no free plan, no refunds under its terms, and white-label reports only on Enterprise.

Choose it if

  • You want to see whether ChatGPT and Google AI cite your pages, alongside your normal Google rankings
  • You have older posts losing traffic and want Frase to spot the decline in Search Console and draft the refresh for you to approve
  • You publish on Webflow, Sanity or Wix as well as WordPress and want one-click publishing to all of them
  • Your team writes in several languages: Frase drafts natively in more than 70
  • You want to run research and drafting from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor through an MCP server

Main features

  • SEO research and briefs

Frase reads the pages already ranking for a topic and pulls out their headings, the questions they answer and the patterns they share. You turn that into a brief, or let the agent go straight to a draft.

  • Frase Agent and Brand Hub

The agent writes drafts in a brand voice it learns from your site, or one you set in the Brand Hub with tone, terminology and reference documents. You give it a line of feedback and it rewrites, and drafts wait for your approval unless you allow auto-publishing for a content type.

  • SEO and GEO scores

Every draft gets a search score and a score for how likely AI answer engines are to cite it, based on authority, readability and structure. You see what moves each score while you edit.

  • AI Visibility

Frase checks the prompts you choose every day and shows whether AI answers name your brand or a competitor, with share of voice and sentiment. Starter covers ChatGPT and Google AI, Professional adds Perplexity, and Scale adds Claude and Gemini.

  • Content Guard

Frase watches the Google position and clicks of the pages you pick, using your Search Console data, and checks them every week. When one slips it drafts the fix and republishes it to your site once you approve.

  • Site audit

The audit checks your pages for technical, content and AI-readiness problems, such as broken links, orphan pages and pages that block AI crawlers, and ranks the fixes by impact. You can hand the resulting Fix Pack to whoever edits your site.

  • Publishing and FraseCMS

Frase publishes drafts, scheduled posts or live posts to WordPress, Webflow, Sanity and Wix, and fills Yoast or Rank Math fields on WordPress without a plugin. If you have no CMS, FraseCMS hosts your blog free up to 100,000 page views a month.

  • Topic clusters and content opportunities

Frase maps each topic you cover, shows the subtopics you have not written yet, and lists refresh and new-page ideas ranked by estimated impact and effort.

  • Frase Answers

A free chat widget, one per site, answers visitor questions from your content and records what people ask, which feeds new topic ideas back into Frase. More conversation volume is a paid add-on.

  • API, MCP server and automations

Every plan includes a REST API with webhooks, an MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, and a CLI, with 5,000 to 50,000 requests a month by plan. Zapier, Make and n8n connect through the API, and Slack receives alerts.

Questions people ask

How much does Frase cost?

On November 4, 2026, Starter costs $49 a month, Professional $129 and Scale $299 when billed monthly. Yearly billing brings those down to $39, $103 and $239 a month. Enterprise is priced on request.

Does Frase have a free trial or free plan?

There is a 7-day free trial with no card required. It includes Professional's features, capped at 5 articles, 50 audit pages, 25 AI prompts and up to 3 seats. There is no free plan, though Frase offers free tools such as a GEO score checker and an AI visibility checker.

Can I get a refund from Frase?

Frase's terms say all fees paid are final and it does not give refunds. Use the 7-day trial to test it on your own site before you pay, and pick monthly billing if you are unsure.

What happens when I reach my monthly limit?

Starter stops at its limits until your cycle resets or you upgrade, so you never get an overage bill. On Professional and Scale you can switch on pay-as-you-go, which is off by default and bills at the end of the cycle.

Which CMS platforms does Frase publish to?

Frase publishes to WordPress, Webflow, Sanity and Wix, or hosts your blog on FraseCMS. WordPress works over its API, so you do not need to install a plugin. You can also export articles to Google Docs or Notion, or download them as HTML, Markdown, PDF or text.

Which AI answer engines does Frase track?

Starter tracks ChatGPT and Google AI with 20 prompts. Professional adds Perplexity with 50 prompts, and Scale adds Claude and Gemini with 75 prompts. Enterprise also covers Grok, Copilot and DeepSeek.

I use the old Frase. Do I have to move to the new app?

No. Frase's migration guide says moving to the new app is optional and there is no deadline yet. Eligible paid subscriptions keep the same price after migration, though some limits differ and credits reset on your billing date instead of the first of the month.
