I face the challenge of split testing since my current provider (Constant Contact) made it a difficult manual process.

I am about to test out Active Campaign as it seems to have great functionality for split testing and also great automation set ups.

I used this cool tool to find out about it – might also help you if you’re considering changing your email marketing service provider – https://www.producthunt.com/posts/what-email-service-should-i-use

The biggest issue that I have is that… sometimes, a long email list causes more problems than benefits. Less can often mean more, so consider reducing your recipient base to generate more leads.

If you work with a huge email subscribers’ list, follow the basics of email list hygiene to make your work a walk in the park:

1. Get rid of the addresses that bounce.

2. Try to re-engage inactive users and remove those email addresses that don’t respond.

3. Remove role-based email accounts, e.g., addresses that begin with [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], etc.

4. Get email confirmation by asking subscribers to perform an action, like clicking a link, for example.

When you will have an email database that you want to use for marketing purposes it is recommended to validate it first, following these steps you’ll be sure that you’ll reach your customers and you’ll improve your inbox and deliverability.

I advise you to try Zerobounce.net they offer a trial of 100 credits free when you register for an account, like this you have the possibility to test this service. Also, you can upload your email list using their Bulk Email Upload page, their allow formats are .CSV and .TXT, you should know that their credits never expire! So you can use them whenever you need.

ZeroBounce works by identifying and eliminating all invalid, inactive, duplicate, abuse, spam traps, catch-all email addresses in order to avoid bounces which can contribute to ruining your sending reputation. Please, check the features below:

  • It has built-in Abuse Detection – Meaning it will flag emails addresses known for clicking the spam button.
  • It has spam trap detection – Contrary to popular believe that all spam traps are not detectable. It’s simply untrue, there are many spam filters that will auto-reply that the email is a spam-trap and you email it again, you’re blacklisted.
  • Data Appends – This is amazing, they will tell you the first name, last name, and gender for the majority of your emails – What other company does that?
  • IP Location – If you upload the IP address, it will append the location the email was captured from.
  • Disposable/Temporary Email Detection – If an email is a temporary email address it will tell you, those are not worth mailing too.
  • Catch-All Detection – Meaning the email address can be good/bad – these addresses will always verify as valid.
  • Do Not Mail – Role-based emails and emails from spam companies fall into this category.
  • API – You can interface with their API and do validations from your registration
