If your software doesn't have a customer portal, it's not a complete SaaS software…. I mean that's the whole point of software a a service.

Ideally your SaaS platform should include:

  • Core functionality (i.e. whatever your software does)
  • Billing functionality (ability to accept / process payments and generate invoices)
  • Customer management (customers can self-service and make payments with minimum intervention)

Chances are if you're taking a 3rd party dashboard or customer portal solutuon you will have a lot of integration work to do to make it function seamlessly.

To answer your question: It depends on what you're selling. If it's a month-to-month subscription service, you can use WHMCS. Yes I know its primarily for hosting; but the functionality it provides works the same across SaaS purposes as well.

Hey, I think all the subscription management software offers self serve functionality to their customer.

We live in the era where each & every businessmen wants to serve the customer in a better and satisfactory way.

Subscription billing software offers customer portal – “DO IT YOURSELF” so customer can upgrade/downgrade their own subscription plan, update their payment information, change their address, and cancel the subscriptions easily.

Here is the blog which contain billing software that provides a customer portal.
